Grounded in the belief that freedom and independence are fundamental human rights, Possability Group is a for-purpose organisation dedicated to supporting people with disability, children and young people to thrive.
The people we support, our team and our communities are at the heart of everything we do. Every day, our dedicated team proves that together, we can make a meaningful difference.
We believe we have a responsibility to fundamentally improve outcomes for people with disability within a generation.
We partner with people with disability to deliver contemporary, high-quality services across home and living, employment and community access.
We champion capacity building to support them into mainstream settings, whether at home, work or in the community.
We provide nurturing and secure environments for children and young people in out-of-home care, working closely with families, specialists and schools to achieve the best possible outcomes.
Our practice framework guides how we work and is centred on four main principles: we are child-centred, prioritise health and wellbeing, are culturally sensitive, and are trauma-informed.
In 1953, a group of parents set out to create opportunities for their children with disability. The businesses they built to provide meaningful employment grew into Oak Tasmania, paving the way for greater inclusion and independence.
In 1989, a group of nuns opened a community housing and support services organisation named Euphrasia, with the vision to help foster ‘a good life’ for people with disability.
In 2016, after a series of partnerships and mergers, Euphrasia and Oak Tasmania joined together under the name Possability Group.
Lifestyle Solutions took shape on a similar path. In 1978, Bindi Enterprises launched in Alice Springs, providing employment opportunities, support and advocacy for people with disability. In 2002, a group of carers in Newcastle founded Lifestyle Solutions to improve disability support, later expanding into out-of-home care for children. In 2012, Bindi Enterprises and Lifestyle Solutions merged.
In late 2022, Possability Group and Lifestyle Solutions joined together. Then, in September 2025, we became part of Independence Australia Group — bringing together two organisations with deep roots in disability and community services, and a shared commitment to the people we support.
Today, we stand as one, with greater reach, broader expertise, and a unified direction.
We live and breathe our values every day to ensure we remain a leader in disability and child and family services.
